Have you ever looked at someone and thought to yourself, but WHY? For me a 7 on the enneagram its usually something like “but why are you so negative” or “why can’t we just have fun” or “why you crying”. I picked up this guide to the enneagram after a friend recommended it to me it has since been the topic of all of my conversations. It can be so easy to walk through life judging the viewpoints of others. Without understanding a persons underlying feelings or beliefs it can be pretty easy to fall into the trap of judgement or simply believing they should view the world the same way as you. It also helped me see that just because someone like the 2 Helpers on the enneagram are driven solely by helping others doesn’t make me a bad person for not being the same way.
The ennneagram is one of the many tools used to assess personalities but what I love about it is that it shares WHY the person has those certain personality traits, what they look like when they’re healthy and what qualities they posses when they are unhealthy. It provides a guide to self growth for each of the personality types and honestly has given me so much understanding and validation about myself and others.
If you’re interested in understand people around you better or are looking for another tool for self growth this book is a must read! I absolutely loved it.
